This study aimed to analyze the Mandalla Project from the perspective of the Social Innovation (SI) diffusion process in the context of Ceará’s semiarid region. Methodologically, a mixed-methods approach was employed, combining content analysis and descriptive statistics to achieve the research objectives. The results made it possible to characterize mandalas as social innovations, evidenced as significant determinants for the development of Ceará’s semiarid region. Despite the expressive outcomes of the Mandalla Project, it was observed that these actions remain insufficient to address the persistent conditions of social exclusion and poverty in the region.
